Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Shelfeesh ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Shelfeesh is a digital library management and social reading platform that allows users to:

• Organize and track their personal book collections
• Write and share book reviews
• Discover new books through search and recommendations
• Connect with other readers and share reading experiences

User Accounts

To use Shelfeesh, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Be responsible for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Be at least 13 years of age

User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (reviews, comments, etc.). By posting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.

You agree not to post content that:

• Violates any laws or regulations
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains hate speech, harassment, or threats
• Is spam, fraudulent, or misleading
• Contains viruses or malicious code

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Harass, bully, or threaten other users
• Attempt to hack or compromise the App's security
• Scrape or extract data without permission
• Use automated tools (bots) without authorization

Content Moderation and Account Termination

Shelfeesh maintains a safe and respectful community through automated content moderation. Our moderation system protects users from harmful content and ensures compliance with community guidelines.

Reporting System

Users can report comments that violate our community guidelines. Valid reasons for reporting include:

• Spam: Unsolicited promotional content, repetitive messages, or irrelevant links
• Harassment: Bullying, threats, or targeted attacks against individuals
• Inappropriate Content: Hate speech, explicit material, or offensive language
• Other: Any content that violates these terms or community standards

Automatic Account Deactivation

Important: Users who receive 5 or more flags for violating community guidelines will have their account automatically and permanently deactivated.

Upon account deactivation:

• Your account will be immediately terminated and access revoked
• All your data will be permanently deleted, including:
  • Book reviews and ratings
  • Comments on reviews and shelves
  • Custom shelves and collections
  • Reading lists and library
  • Social connections (followers/following)
  • Profile information and images
• Your profile will be anonymized (email, username, and personal information removed)
• You will not be able to log back in or access the application
• This action is irreversible and cannot be undone

Fair Use Policy

We encourage all users to:

• Follow community guidelines and treat others with respect
• Report content responsibly and accurately
• Engage in constructive discussions about books and literature
• Think before posting comments that may violate our policies

⚠️ Warning: The 5-flag threshold is designed to protect our community from repeat offenders. We take content moderation seriously to ensure Shelfeesh remains a welcoming space for all readers.

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by Shelfeesh and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Google Books API and Firebase. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Accuracy or reliability of content
• Security of data transmission
• Availability at all times

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shelfeesh shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the App.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with local jurisdiction.
